Harry Kappen Crosses Oceans and Emotional Borders on Powerful New LP After the Crossing, Featuring Thought-Provoking Single “Balance”
The album will be released on March 3, 2026, on MTS Records.  It is Harry’s first new music since his move to Mexico.

MEXICO CITY, MX – February 5, 2026 – Internationally recognized singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Harry Kappen unveils his deeply personal and socially reflective new album, After the Crossing, available March 3, 2026. The 10-track LP is anchored by the compelling lead single, “Balance”, a timely anthem calling for unity and understanding in an increasingly polarized world.
After the Crossing marks a significant artistic and personal milestone for Kappen. The album is his first full-length release since relocating from Europe to Mexico, a life-changing journey that inspired much of the record’s emotional depth and thematic exploration. Written, performed, and produced entirely by Kappen, the project highlights his signature ability to blend introspective storytelling with dynamic, genre-blending musical arrangements.
The album’s lead single, “Balance”, addresses the growing divide across political, social, and cultural landscapes. Through poignant lyrics and atmospheric instrumentation, Kappen advocates for dialogue, compassion, and the often-overlooked middle ground between extremes. The track captures the album’s overarching message: embracing nuance in a world that often demands absolutes.
Born in Groningen in the Netherlands, Harry Kappen has built a diverse career spanning performance, production, and therapy. Early in his career, he created music for Dutch radio and television while performing with numerous rock bands across Europe. Later, he pursued studies in music therapy, dedicating more than two decades to youth care and serving as a lecturer in an international master’s program. Today, Kappen continues his therapy work on a smaller scale in Mexico City while focusing heavily on his expanding music career.
After the Crossing is Kappen’s fifth album since the global pandemic, following the releases of Escape, Time Will Tell, and Four. His work has earned widespread recognition, including an Elite Music Award for Songwriter of the Year, along with nominations from the ISSA Awards, Josie Music Awards, and IMN Music Awards. His music continues to generate strong global streaming engagement and critical acclaim.
Musical advisory contributions on the album were provided by Jeroen Goeijers and Koop Hofman, with additional vocal contributions from Danna Gomez on “Good Samaritans.” All songs, music, and instrumentation were performed by Kappen, further showcasing his remarkable versatility as a multi-instrumentalist and producer.
With After the Crossing, Harry Kappen delivers a moving, thought-provoking collection of songs that reflects both a physical journey across continents and a deeply emotional crossing into new creative and personal territory.
